Meeting of Monday, July 5, 2004

This was our first meeting in two weeks and was well attended. We also had two guests: Gerry and Andrew - thanks for visiting. The theme was What did you do on Canada Day? We had an assortment of answers from going to Queens Park to going to London Drugs, and most seemed to stay close to home in true patriotic fashion!

Hal was our Table Topics Master and we were in for an hilarious 15 minutes - Maurice won, after describing his running the three-legged race on Wreck Beach!

Our Best Speaker was Darryl, who at his 4th speech, gave a wonderful delivery of When Floating Homes Tilt - way to go Darryl - and way to go Mary K, for receiving your 5th Speech Completion Award. It was also nice to see Mary W again and back in form with her wonderful delivery of her trip to India. Rosemary gave a hypothetical dinner speech in which we were part of her "family" - nice touch Rosemary!!

The Best Evaluator was Barb who evaluated Table Topics as well as Rosemary's speech - excellent work Barb!!

Notes for Your Calendar:
July 12th, the theme will be Stampede Days - Love 'em or Leave 'em, with John S as the Chair.
July 19 is: A Tourist in My Own City - chaired by Barb
July 26 is: My Favourite Actor - chaired by Maureen

Look forward to seeing you on the 12th!
