Jing Jing, who has visited us on a number of occasions, completed her application form and payment, and joined our club. Jing Jing, welcome to Tillicum; we look forward to working with you to complete your Competent Communicator manual!
Theresa and Doris, who joined a few weeks ago, were inducted this evening; congratulations on becoming bona fide members of Tillicum!!
Grace, Area 80 governor, chaired the meeting and kept to the aspect of this being Toastmasters’ Week. We all had an opportunity to relate our thoughts on Toastmasters and this greatly impacted the meeting!! Nice work Grace on bringing this evening together to include the Division Governor.
Doris, our brand new member, courageously took on the role of Grammarian and did an outstanding job!! With the beautiful word of the day: Dulcet (adj.), she instructed us on its meaning: Pleasing to the Ear, and was so vigilant in listening to uhms, ahs, and grammar, and truly gave an excellent report – well done Doris!
Brad, as Table Topics Master, used initiative in choosing topics on current events and was very effective in creating five scenarios, ranging from cell phone use while driving to the projected changes to the transit system. Maureen won the Best Table Topics Award for her thoughts on supporting our military in Afghanistan.
Lutz as Toastmaster introduced three speakers: Rod, Michelle L., and Lydia. We congratulate all three speakers on their excellent deliveries and especial mention goes to Rod, who completed his 10th project and is now a Competent Communicator! Great job Rod for moving through the manual at a consistent pace, and it looks as though you are ready to start on the Advanced Manuals!
As well, congratulations to Michelle on achieving her Advanced Communicator Bronze! A wonderful job, for someone who joined Toastmasters only one year ago and completed both CC and ACB. Very well done Michelle and you are eager to start on the Silver and Gold awards!
Lydia won the Best Speaker Award and Maureen the Best Evaluator Award for her evaluation of Lydia’s speech. Congratulations to all winners!
