My Favourite Actor was the evening theme, chaired by Maureen, and well attended! Great contributions by all members who have a well-rounded knowledge of actors on the stage and silver screen!
Barb A stepped into the role of Grammarian and came up with the word of the day: Ham. No description is necessary – although hams were referred to as actors in the Elizabethan era and continue to this day!
Lutz as Table Topics Master kept to the theme, and Mary W won the top spot, which gallantly included her rendition of a twirling Sister Maria from The Sound of Music!!
Congratulations go to Darryl who completed his 5th Speech; very unique in his description of separating interesting from uninteresting people. Maurice in his evaluation rightly described Darryl’s voice as “radio announcer smooth” – so fitting. Maureen won the Best Speaker Award for her poignant touching story on The Lone Wolf.
For his evaluation of Darryl’s speech, Maurice won the Best Evaluator Award, which he accepted with his version of Sally Field’s “You like me, you really like me!!!”
As BC Day falls on Monday, August 2nd there will not be a meeting. We return on August 9.
