What an exciting evening with so much happening!! We welcomed our first-time guest Pam and return guests Antonella and Trish. Thank you for being with us, and welcome to Tillicum both Antonella and Trish! We hope you will enjoy membership in our club and wish you much success in your Toastmaster experience!
Rosemary chaired the evening, and her choice of theme was The Stress Factor. This encouraged much talk about the ups and downs of a stressful life, and how we cope!
Rosemary’s delightful daughter Susannah offered to be our Grammarian and her word of the day was Perturbed: to throw into confusion or disorder, with the example: "I felt perturbed when the computer deleted my homework!" We know the feeling Susannah, and you did a commendable job!
Mary as our Table Topics Master had great fun with the theme of the evening and it was Hal who walked off with the Best Table Topics Award for his masterful description of his heroic attempts to save his family and friends from a dreadful fire on Christmas Day.
Our two speakers for the evening enthralled us with their competence and eloquence. Neil, in only his fourth project, spoke on the issue of Truth, and Candace in her 10th project spoke on Clutter. Such a variance of subjects but these speakers were so good that both Candace and Neil tied for the coveted Best Speaker Award. Particular accolades go to Candace who achieved her CTM – her goal being to do so before Christmas – well done Candace, and Congratulations!
A tie was also in place for George and Maureen, as they achieved the Best Evaluator Award.
Tillicum, you are so close to becoming President's Distinguished, and we hope to achieve this goal in January. Well done!
Don’t forget that the Christmas Party will be held on Monday, December 13th. Our president Alex will be in touch regarding potluck, etc., so be involved and let’s make this a fun evening for all the family!
Only one more meeting this year on December 6; the theme will be Christmas Traditions, with Andrew as Chair.
Look forward to seeing you on the 6th!
Best wishes,
