Prior to tonight's meeting, I attended the Community Impact Speakers Advanced Club in MetroTown and later joined Tillicum for their meeting. The recording of tonight's meeting is with the able expertise of Alex who has offered us his wonderful account of the evening's activities:
Tonight's meeting had lots of Ballyhoo: the word of the day, meaning "loud noise or fuss" or "extravagant publicity", as we celebrated the Chinese New Year.
Our energetic Chair, Mary K, decorated the room and wore traditional Chinese garb as she welcomed the Year of the Rooster.
Round Table introductions were inventive as each person, including our two guests (Tracy and Dar), addressed the message in the fortune cookies provided by Mary.

Andrew stuck to the barnyard theme in delivering his inspiration.
We welcomed Matthew as a rejoining member during the business meeting.
Mihaela did a great job as a first-time Table Topics Master. Her topics, tied to the evening's theme, were ably handled by Hal, Anita, Maurice, Andrew, and Neil. Neil walked away with Best Table Topics Award explaining the Scottish symbols he would use for his new astrological calendar. Carol won Best Evaluator for her detailed evaluation of these five speakers.
Toastmaster Alex provided chocolate money in red envelopes and introduced Mihaela, who did a wonderful job delivering her Icebreaker speech, which won her the Best Speaker Award. We look forward to the next installment describing her move to Canada.
Candace's thorough general evaluation was followed by Antonella's heartfelt closing thought on how to make every day worthwhile---despite what the astrologers tell us about the Year of the Rooster.

In summary----lots of energy, a fortune cookie and chocolate for everyone!
Gung Hay Fat Choy!
