Even though it was a beautiful day and balmy evening, we had a wonderful turnout for this meeting, the theme of which was What are YOU doing for summer? We welcomed our guest Deanna and were pleased to hear that you enjoyed your evening. Our two YAMs, Susannah and Naveen, also joined us – these pre-teens come with their parents and truly learn from each meeting, and we are glad to have their input!
Brian was our Chair for the evening, and he kept us on theme with his usual brand of humour, wit and bridging techniques - great going Brian!!
Naveen’s father, Kumar, did an excellent job in his first-time role as Grammarian and offered the very appropriate Word of the Day: alfresco (adj.) meaning: In the fresh air – in the open air. Example: We ate alfresco during the summer.
Antonella, still recuperating from a recent sickness, was excellent as Table Topics Master and kept very much to the theme. It was Margot who won Best Table Topics Speaker Award, recalling memories of family outings and helping us visualize mom, dad, and three active children in a VW Beetle on their way to the lake and campgrounds. Good skills Margot!
Rosemary, working towards her ATM Silver delivered her speech: The Successful Negotiator. This had excellent content and included wonderful role-playing with Maurice in bringing about a win-win negotiation scenario. The Best Speaker Award was truly deserved by Rosemary, and with a very commendable evaluation, Lutz won the Best Evaluator Award.
Still time to reserve for the Night Out at the Bavaria Haus, June 22nd, so notify Maureen if you wish to attend!
The Assigned Roles and Calendar of Events have been updated to the end of September, so please check both to see what’s ahead at Tillicum.
See you on June 27th,
Best wishes,
