At the beginning of the evening's events we had an induction of two new members: Jim and Slavica - congratulations on your induction and membership in Tillicum Toastmasters.
Tonight we had the Club International Speech and Evaluation Contests and in his usual role of Chair at club contests, Maurice did a wonderful job keeping to the agenda and offering his own brand of humour, which always helps to put contestants at ease. Well done Maurice!
There were three speech contestants: Slavica, Tom and Mary. All gave excellent deliveries and spoke on diverse subjects. Mary came second and Tom won first place in the speech contest.
Following the intermission, the Evaluation contest took place. Kuldip was the test speaker and he was evaluated by Maureen and Anita.
Our President Rosemary did an excellent job putting the contests together and thanked all involved.
Congratulations to Tom and Maureen, winner of the Evaluation Contest, who move on to the Area 80 Contest, which will be held at Tillicum on Monday April 3 at 7.30 p.m.
The Division J Contest will be at the Library on Sunday, April 9 at 1.30 p.m.
Just a reminder that the Brunch at the Pantry Restaurant on 6th Street will take place on Sunday, April 2nd at 11.30 a.m. Reservations have been made for our group and if anyone else wishes to attend, please notify Maureen.
