Another great turnout following a break to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday; good to see so many, including our returning guests Collette, Lily and Lloyd. Thank you for visiting. And thank you too to Lily, who completed her application form and paid her subscription to Tillicum!!! Congratulations Lily and welcome to our club; we will help you in your Toastmaster experience to ensure it is fulfilling and fun!
Carol was our oh-so-capable Chair this evening and blended her individualism and humor! “My Favourite Shoes” was the theme and much was said about footwear of varying shapes and sizes throughout the evening. Thanks Carol for an enjoyable meeting!
Julie as our Grammarian chose the word of the day: Plethora meaning a very large amount or number of something, especially an excessive amount. Example: “Imelda Marcos was well-known for the plethora of shoes in her closet!” Great word and well used throughout!
Harvey gave us an abridged version of the Educational Session he will be presenting at the Fall Conference. Entitled “Recipe for Evaluation” we listened intently to his words of wisdom and found this a very good learning experience. Thanks Harvey – hope to hear more from you in November!!
Lydia stepped up to the challenge of Table Topics Master and presented five varying scenarios ranging from “Not in Kansas; no red shoes” to “Habits from our forefathers”. It was this latter response that won Julie the Best Table Topics Award!! Well done Julie; as a new Toastmaster you are excelling in impromptu speaking!
We had two program speakers: Sahra-Lea who charmed us with her Ice Breaker, and Tom who spoke on closing the sale – one of his favourite topics – and a humorous interaction in role-playing with Ken. Congratulations Tom on winning the Best Speaker Award; with this project completion, Tom has achieved his ATM Bronze – so Congratulations Tom on both counts!

Congratulations Tillicum! You have now reached Distinguished Club level - and so early in the Toastmaster year! Please visit here to see how these goals have been achieved. There is no reason why we cannot become a President's Distinguished Club by early 2007!
