This night’s meeting welcomed our first-time guest Lydia – many thanks for visiting and we hope you enjoyed this sample of Tillicum’s hospitality!
Maureen chaired the evening, with the theme The Oscars – any surprises?? There were members who did watch the Oscars and those who didn’t – so a mixed bag of responses!
Vic in his first-time role as Grammarian, chose the word of the day: Stellar (adj.) of or relating to the stars; of or relating to theatrical or film stars, principal or leading persons. “Helen Mirren in ‘The Queen’ portrays an Oscar-winning stellar role.” Great choice of word and well-utilized throughout the evening! Thanks Vic!
Our two newest members, Lourdes and Tracey, were inducted into Tillicum’s membership – Congratulations and welcome!

Susan, as VP Education, presented an Ed Session: Setting the Stage for Success, meeting Roles and Responsibilities. You did a great job outlining such important components to a club and its executive, and a worthwhile presentation. Many thanks Susan!
Sheila in her first-time role as Table Topics Master presented five scenarios, not based on the Oscars but on travel – and it was Julie who took home the Best Table Topics Award for her description of arriving in Montreal sans luggage. Nicely done Julie, and lovely French accent!
Julie again appeared after the break as one of our two program speakers, presenting the fourth project from the Communication and Leadership manual, in which she spoke on the environment. Karen also delivered her 6th speech (Project #7), speaking on hypnosis, and won the vote for Best Speaker Award. Tom, Karen's evaluator, took home the Best Evaluator Award.
Fun evening with variety and education!!
See you again next week, March 5, when Karen is Chair, so please help her fill roles for the meeting!
Best wishes,
