A good turnout following a two-week break and we welcomed our returning guests Gloria, and Parker, who is Lydia’s 8-year old son – so glad to see you both again!
Ken gallantly chaired the evening, the theme being Things to do in BC. Great topic coming right on the heels of the BC Day holiday, and there was much discussion about the many glorious sights and sounds of our province! Thanks Ken; nicely done!
Ken also chaired the Business Meeting during which Susan, our president, proudly showed us two ribbons to go on our banners: one ribbon declaring that Tillicum Toastmasters is a President’s Distinguished Club (again) and the other for Beat the Clock, indicating that we had five new members or more during May to June, 2007. Congratulations Tillicum!
Pleased to see our latest member Tamara, who was inducted as a member of Tillicum during the business session; congratulations Tamara.
Lourdes, following her extensive journey to Malaysia, was the Table Topics Master and did an excellent job outlining five scenarios relating to BC. Congratulations to both Antonella and Brad for their tied win as Best Table Topics Speakers.
The program speakers were John #2 speech, Julie #10 and Gertrude, ACB #2. Excellent speeches by all, and we congratulate Gertrude as Best Speaker and Maureen as Best Evaluator for her evaluation of Gertrude’s speech.
This was a wonderful occasion for Julie, who completed ten projects and is now a Competent Communicator! Congratulations Julie, and nice to know you can go off on vacation with your new designation!
Lydia will be your chair for the August 20 meeting (with Parker helping the Sergeant at Arms, for which we thank him!) Please assist Lydia to fill roles for this meeting.
I will be away for the 20th but will return on the 27th, so look forward to seeing you again!
Best wishes,
