Ancient Legends was tonight’s theme, and Rod in his first-time role as Chair, handled the meeting very well, keeping it to time because we had a full agenda!
Tamara, our newest member, did a great job as Grammarian and chose Antiquated as the word of the day. Meaning Adhering to the past, very old, ancient, Tamara offered the example: “The antiquated tale of Perseus and Medusa is still enjoyed today!”
Rosemary delivered an excellent Education Session with a PowerPoint presentation on the Competent Leader Manual for which we thank her, and you are encouraged to work with this manual while going through your projects.
Gertrude was so eloquent as Table Topics Master and presented five scenarios pertaining to things of olde!! We congratulate Antonella, Maurice and Rosemary on a three-way tie for Best Table Topics Speaker!
We had three varied program speakers: Brad, Michelle and Maureen and congratulate Brad on winning the Best Speaker Award and Lutz on winning the Best Evaluator Award for his evaluation of Maureen’s speech.
There will not be a meeting on September 3, as it is the Labour Day holiday, and we return on Monday, September 10, when Tom will be Chair. The theme is Summer Accomplishments, so please help Tom when he calls on you to fill roles.
