Following a two-week break, we returned to a full house tonight and welcomed our returning guest Christine and three Speechcraft members: Gail, Kristie and Michelle. Thanks so much for visiting; glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again at Tillicum.
Margot was our excellent Chair keeping the meeting on time and to theme, which was Mythical Monsters. A good subject with lots of input from members and guests alike!
Judith, as Grammarian, chose Gamut (n.) as the word of the day: An entire range of series of scope of anything, e.g., “The slaying of monsters is a recurrent theme in the gamut of myths used cross-culturally to explain the origin and nature of the universe.”

Rosemary hosted an Education Session on Mental Flexibility towards achieving her AC Gold. Thanks Rosemary; as always, an informative and enlightening opportunity for us to be innovative and creative.
Susan, as Table Topics Master, offered five scenarios involving all modes of creatures and Maureen, running away from Gizunder, took home the Best Table Topics Award!
We had three excellent program speakers this evening: Brad, Lourdes and Michelle. Congratulations to Brad for winning the Best Speaker Award and Lutz for his evaluation of Michelle’s speech. Both Lourdes and Brad were presented with their club certificates indicating they had achieved their 5th speech completion, so well done to both of you for reaching the half-way mark. In fact, Lourdes has surpassed that by completing her 6th project and with only four to go, she is well on her way to becoming a Competent Communicator! Great job!
Further presentations were made by Tom and Susan, as they presented certificates to the three Speechcrafters: Gail, Kristie and Michelle. Congratulations on completing six speeches during your time at Speechcraft. Those speeches go towards your Competent Communicator standing should you wish to join a club and complete the remaining four speeches in your manual.
Participatory Sports is the theme of the November 26 meeting, so please help Karen, your Chair, as she calls on you to complete roles.
Best wishes,
