Haiku was the theme of the evening, very ably chaired by Julie – excellent bridging and keeping the meeting to theme and on time! Julie also reminded us that on Monday, November 10, Harvey Martens will deliver a workshop on Evaluation: a must attend and it will be good to see Harvey back at the club!
During the Business Meeting, Michelle, as VP Membership, inducted George and Luis – congratulations on your official welcome to Tillicum Toastmasters!
Our newly-inducted members were called upon to participate in Table Topics at the invitation of Lourdes, and we congratulate George on his contribution and winning the Best Table Topics Award.
Natalie, as Toastmaster, offered an eloquent entrance to the second half of the meeting, introducing our two program speakers Christine and Susan, who tied for Best Speaker Award! Congratulations to you both, and to Maurice as Best Evaluator!
AWARDS: during the convention in Langley it was announced that Tom has been named as the District 21 Toastmaster of the Year! Well earned and well done Tom!!! Tom achieved his DTM during the 2007-2008 year, as did Maureen, who for once did not attend a conference and to whom Tom presented the DTM Medal! Congratulations to Tom and Maureen!
