With a theme like "Comfort Food," we knew our Feb. 2 meeting was going to be energetic. The fun began with Maurice as Chair, listing comfort foods from different countries. The round table introductions tempted us to head for the nearest restaurant.
However, we did stay and enjoyed wonderful Table Topics from Christine, Lindsey, Tom, Margot, and Julie. Julie was voted Best Table Topics Speaker,after describing a meal she would prepare for Lutz.
During the Business Meeting, Michelle moved that Tillicum form a Membership Committee. Seconded by Tom, the motion passed. Michelle is seeking members who want to serve on the new committee.
Julie presented the ribbon Tillicum received for recognition as a Select Distinguished Toastmasters Club, having completed many of our club goals.
Jennifer delivered Project 6 from the Competent Communicator Manual,describing her drive and preparation to run in the upcoming Vancouver Sun Run. She received the award for Best Program Speaker. Antonella was voted Best Evaluator, having been able to keep up her concentration through the great Table Topics speeches about all kinds of good food.
We look forward to our Valentine's Day themed meeting on Feb. 9 - please don't forget the Night Out at Yianni's on Thursday, February 12!
